Khalid Al-Obaid
Biography
Khaled Al Obaid (born January 19, 1938) is a veteran Kuwaiti actor known for his impactful roles in theater, television, and cinema. He began his artistic career in 1963 on the stage and quickly became one of the most recognizable figures in Kuwaiti drama.
He studied at Omar Ibn Al-Khattab School and worked at the Ministry of Electricity and Water, initially as a supervisor at water stations and later as an accountant. His early professional life in public service preceded a decades-long acting career defined by strong performances and versatility.
Al Obaid is particularly known for portraying complex and often antagonistic characters, bringing emotional depth and authenticity to each role. He gained wide acclaim for his work in notable television series such as Al-Samt (The Silence, 1980) and Al-Shareeb Bezza (2002), as well as several stage plays and Kuwaiti films.
Beyond his professional achievements, he is a family man with six sons and three daughters. His legacy as a pioneer in Kuwaiti performing arts continues to influence generations of actors and audiences across the region.
